Under the auspices of the Presidency, under the leadership of First Lady Sibel Tatar, the “1st Disability Rights Workshop Action Plan Launch” was realized on Tuesday.

The action plan, which covers a period of one year, will be carried out within the framework of 4 main goals.

The 1st Disability Rights Workshop Launch was held at the Presidency under the leadership of First Lady, Sibel Tatar.

President of the Disabled Sports Federation Ahmet Akdeniz, discussed their efforts in solving the problems of the disabled and creating a fair approach.

He announced that elevators will be installed at the courts for the disabled.

Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu discussed their projects, including the opening of the inpatient section of the Barrier Free Life House.

He gave the good news that the inpatient section of the Barrier Free Life House will be opened in 2025 in order to end the anxiety about the situation of disabled children, especially after the death of their families.

Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek emphasized the importance of implementing the workshop results and action plans.

First Lady Sibel Tatar for her part emphasized the importance of the action plan, particularly addressing the issue of marginalization of disabled children in schools.

She also raised the issue of buildings that were designed without considering persons with disabilities, calling on the relevant authorities to review building regulations.

Tatar also said that more was needed to be done to provide care and financial assistance to persons with disabilities.

President Ersin Tatar highlighted the importance of the ongoing work to overcome obstacles faced by disabled individuals.

The event concluded with the presentation of the National Action Plan report by Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay.
