The 11th Barrier-Free Information Days was held with the participation of President Ersin Tatar.
President Ersin Tatar words came during the 11th Barrier-Free Information Days hosted by Near East University in cooperation with the Presidential Committee on Disabilities, Manisa Celal Bayar University and Türkiye Barrier-free Information Platform.
Speaking during the event, Tatar pointed out that the event is important for awareness, sensitivity and for disabled individuals to receive services more easily.
He also announced that legal arrangements have been made and reforms have been carried out for disabled individuals.
He stated that the Committee on Persons with Disabilities, which was established under the Presidency under the leadership of his wife Sibel Tatar, has been working on the Special Education Law.
Explaining that efforts are being made to help approximately 6,500 disabled citizens in the TRNC to overcome obstacles and integrate them into society, Tatar said, “Disabled people are our most valuable and important citizens and we cannot neglect or ignore them.”
