The 13th Iskele Culture & Art Days, which is being organised by the Iskele Municipality, will begin tonight.
According to the written statement made by the Iskele Municipality, the 13th Iskele Culture & Art Days, which will last until Friday, March 29, will start with the opening ceremony in front of the Iskele Municipality Culture House at 19.00 and a concert to be given by the Iskele Municipal Choir at 19.30 at Iskele Atatürk Culture Center (AKM).
All events that are taking place within the scope of the 13th Iskele Culture & Art Days, is free of charge to the public.
The event program is as follows:
On Tuesday, March 5, children will be able to watch the illusion show – ventriloquist puppet haydar – juggler show in the event at İskele AKM, which will consist of 2 sessions.
On Wednesday, March 6, forgotten children’s games for children will take place in the garden of Iskele Municipality Culture House.
On Thursday, March 7, Theater artist Nazan Kesal will meet with theater lovers in Iskele.
Nazan Kesal, who is preparing to appear before the audience with her one-woman play ‘My Wounds are from Love’ written by Şebnem İşigüzel and directed by Berfin Zenderlioğlu, will carry the voice of Fürug Ferruhzad, the rebellious voice of Iranian poetry, to her stage at İskele AKM.
The play will be staged at 19.00 at İskele AKM. The play will be followed by a screening of the 2013 short film Swing, directed by Azan Kesal, about a young woman’s last 12 minutes in a house on the edge of the city.
On Friday, March 8, at 19.00, the night of foreign countries will take place at İskele AKM.
On Monday, March 11 and Monday, March 18, TRNC theater artist İzel Seylani will meet with children from regional schools at İskele AKM with Karagöz Hidden Treasure, which will consist of 2 sessions at 10.00 and 11.00 am.
On Tuesday, March 12, Mastercheff Tanya Kilitkayalı and Uğur Yılmaz Deniz will be at İskele AKM at 10.00 for a gastronomy interview and then at the İskele Municipality Culture House for a workshop.
On Wednesday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 19, Turkish Cypriot Author Ünver Alibey will meet with Bekirpaşa High School and İskele Evkaf TMK students. Author Alibey, who will meet with the students, will also promote his book.
On Friday, March 15, at 11.00 at İskele AKM, GİKAD & GİKAKOOP and Woman is the Home of Woman workshop will take place.
On Wednesday, March 20, at 11.00-12.00 the successful ventrologist artist Ecem Yüksel and her friend Çilek will meet with the children from regional schools at İskele AKM in the Vantrolog puppet show consisting of 2 sessions.
On Thursday, March 21, at 10.00 there will be a Poets and Writers Meeting at İskele AKM with the cooperation of İskele Municipality, Culture Department and Writers’ Union.
On Friday, March 22nd at 19.30 at Iskele AKM, Zahit İpek & Group Mutriban Ensemble & Whirling Dervish Show will take place.
On Monday, March 25, the unforgettable characters of the Turkish Cypriot theater ‘Alikko and Caher’ Folkloric Theater play, which will be staged by the Folklore and Youth Center, will take place at 19.30 at İskele AKM.
On Tuesday, March 26, the Women’s Handicraft Exhibition of the village women’s courses affiliated to İskele will take place.
The exhibition, which will be opened at 19.30 at the Iskele Municipality Culture House, can be visited until Friday, March 29.
On Wednesday, March 27, Iskele Municipality Theater will meet with theater lovers on World Theater Day with its new play Dangerous Obsession, at 19.30 at Iskele AKM.
On Friday, March 29th, Culture & Art Days will end with the Traditional Cyprus Songs concert given by Othello Polyphonic Choir. The concert will take place at 19.30 at İskele AKM.
