As Türkiye marks the 8th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), commemorative events are being held across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Metin Feyzioğlu, is set to appear in a special broadcast on BRT today to discuss the significance of the day.

In his message commemorating the event, Feyzioğlu emphasized that the Turkish nation has not allowed the terrorist organization FETO and other dark forces to succeed.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is also commemorating those who were martyred during FETO’s coup attempt on July 15, 2016.

The Turkish Embassy in Lefkoşa hosted a “15 July Martyrs Memorial” program at the Hala Sultan Mosque on Friday.

The event was attended by President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Metin Feyzioğlu.

The Turkish Embassy also held a memorial ceremony at the Boğaz Martyrs’ Cemetery at 9:00 AM today.

Ambassador Feyzioğlu will participate in a special broadcast on BRT at 11:30 AM to further discuss the significance of the day.

In his message marking the treacherous coup attempt, Ambassador Metin Feyzioğlu stated, “Under the resolute leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the noble Turkish nation did not allow the terrorist organization FETO, which is a puppet of foreign intelligence agencies, and other dark forces that threaten our nation’s independence to succeed. July 15 is the anniversary of our glorious resistance. It is a day of democracy and national unity. We pray for Allah’s mercy on our martyrs who did not allow occupation and division, and we wish our veterans many healthy days ahead.”
