President Ersin Tatar emphasized that despite the injustices and unjust embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriots, investments are being made in the country.

He also said that with the support of Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is on its way to becoming an island of education and stated that efforts are underway to increase quality education and international recognition.

He made the statement during the opening ceremony of the 2023-24 academic year of 15 Kasım Kıbrıs University.

President Ersin Tatar attended the opening ceremony and first lecture of the 2023-2024 academic year of 15 Kasım Kıbrıs University.

In his speech at the ceremony, President Ersin Tatar said that together with Ertan Birinci, the founder of the 15 Kasım Kıbrıs University and owner of Birinci Medya, they have always exerted efforts to make the voice of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus heard and that they trust that the country will develop further.

He also emphasized that despite the injustices done to the Turkish Cypriot people and the unfair embargoes imposed, investments in the country continue and thanked the Birinci family for their investment in the field of education and media.

Emphasizing that the TRNC is on its way to becoming an island of education with the support of Türkiye, Tatar stated that efforts are continuing so that the most qualified education is provided in the country and for international recognition.

“Education is constantly changing. There is competition in higher education, so infrastructure investments should be made in accordance with the era. You have to transfer innovations to students and instil lifelong education. It should be ensured that more qualified students from 3rd world countries and students from different countries come” said Tatar.
