The 17th International Tatlısu Carob and Folk Dance Festival is set to begin on Friday, September 6th. Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan held a press conference to provide details about the three-day event.

The festival, organized by Tatlısu Municipality with the support of Final Organizasyon, was introduced during a press conference at the Tatlısu Municipality building.

Mayor Orçan explained that the primary aim of the festival is to highlight carob and its products, encouraging their consumption.

In addition to promoting carob, Orçan emphasized that the festival contributes to the economic, social, and cultural lives of the local community.

He also discussed the health benefits of carob products and pointed out that carob has a wide range of uses.

The mayor further announced plans to establish a facility in the near future to process carob products.

The festival will kick off with a parade, followed by performances at the International Folk Dance Festival and a concert by the Semida group on the first day.

Orçan also mentioned that the event will feature numerous sports, cultural, and children’s activities.

Final Organizasyon Director Yıltan Toazkı added that the festival will provide an opportunity to address issues related to carob production.
