“May 19 is a holiday, a gift Atatürk gave to the youth. Therefore, it is a very meaningful holiday. You are the ones that will draw up new policies in the future and manage the country. That’s why education is very vital and it is very important to walk the path drawn by Atatürk” said Üstel.

In line with this purpose they as the govenrment have worked together with many business people and built many schools for the country.

“The Financial Protocol signed between the TRNC and Türkiye will also help towards this end” said Üstel.

Students from the Haydarpaşa High School were received by the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu.

Speaking during the visit Çavuşoğlu noted that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk landed in Samsun on May 19, 1919 and started the war of independence, which gave the Turkish Cypriot people self-confidence in their struggle for existence.

Stating that as the Ministry, they are trying to raise the young generation to whom they will transfer the state, Çavuşoğlu said he had full faith in the youth.

Meanwhile students from Lefkoşa, Güzelyurt and Girne are taking part in a nature walk at the Bırkan Uzun Selvili Tepe this afternoon.
