It has been exactly 50 years since the Turkish Cypriot people regained their independence and freedom and are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the July 20 Peace and Freedom Day with much enthusiasm.

On the anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, ceremonies and various events will be held in the capital Lefkoşa and all districts.

Motherland Türkiye is participating in the 50th anniversary celebrations with a crowded delegation at the highest level.

For the celebrations, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and state officials will be in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the unshakable ties between Türkiye and the TRNC will be revealed once again.

The ceremonies and events to be held on July 20 will be broadcast live on BRT.

The July 20 Peace and Freedom Day and the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation will be celebrated with much jubilation.

The 50th anniversary celebrations of the Peace Operation, which brought freedom and security to the Turkish Cypriots, will begin on July 19 with the firing of 50 pars and the speech of President Ersin Tatar on BRT.

The first ceremony will be held at the Boğaz Martyrdom.

Ceremonies will be held at the monument of leader of the Turkish Cypriot people Dr. Fazıl Küçük and the mausoleum of founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş.

On July 20, there will be ceremonies in front of the Atatürk Monument and Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard in the capital Lefkoşa and similar ceremonies and events will also be held in all districts.

This year’s ceremonies and events will be attended by Motherland Türkiye at the highest level.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and state officials will be in the TRNC to attend the celebrations.

In addition to the guest delegations from Türkiye, there will be a large number of participations from Azerbaijan and other Turkic states.

Within the framework of the 50th anniversary celebrations of July 20th Peace and Freedom Day various shows and concerts will take place and on the 19th of July the Dawn Vigil will be realized at the Yavuz Çıkartma Beach.

Also, the Turkish Stars aerobatic team will present a breathtaking show in the skies of the TRNC.

Within the framework of the celebration program, TCG Anadolu, the flagship of the Turkish Navy, will pay a port visit to the TRNC.

Under the leadership of TCG Anadolu, a naval parade will be organized with the participation of 50 ships of different types such as frigates, corvettes, assault boats, submarines and landing ships.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Peace and Freedom Day, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre and his wife Emel Töre will hold a reception in the garden of the parliament at 7.30 on Friday evening, July 19.

On July 20, President Ersin Tatar and first lady Sibel Tatar will organize a 50th anniversary reception at the Presidency at 8pm.

Within the framework of the celebrations, various events such as seminars, conferences, exhibitions, theatre performances and sporting competitions have also been planned.
