The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Taekwondo Judo Karate Aikodo Hapkido Kungfu Kurash Wushu Federation 2023 Oscar Diploma Ceremony was realised on Sunday.

President Ersin Tatar and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre also attended the ceremony.

Speaking first, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre said that the success of the federation’s athletes in the international arena despite all the embargoes is very important and congratulated all the athletes, coaches and executives.

Emphasizing that protecting the state is the most primary duty for them, Töre stated that in this sense, representing the state in foreign countries and achieving degrees is a great service to their country.

President Ersin Tatar for his part said that they support sports and added that although there are some shortcomings, it is their duty and responsibility to educate young people who can embrace the international community and represent the TRNC in the international arena.

“The injustices done to us by the international community are their own shame not ours” said Tatar.

“In order for young people here to be worldly, to embrace the world and to represent us in all kinds of international events; we need to carry out activities that will allow the international community to embrace us and our athletes” said Tatar.
