A series of events are being held across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus alongside Türkiye, to mark the 24th of November Teachers’ Day.
The day marks the anniversary of the founding of national schools in Türkiye to teach literacy to people following the transition to the Latin alphabet from Arabic.
It is also the day the founder of modern Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was bestowed the title of head teacher.
As part of events marking the day, the Minister of National Education and Culture Nazım Çavuşoğlu laid a wreath in front of the Atatürk Monument this morning.
In the meantime, ceremonies were held at all schools throughout the country to mark the day.
