27 new cases of COVID-19 and one death were reported in the TRNC on Wednesday, the Health Ministry announced.
Of the 27, 22 were locally transmitted cases, following 6,038 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
The statement said two of the cases had arrived via air while three of the cases were individuals who were in isolation at quarantine centres for having come into close contact with positive cases.
It also added that 26 people had recovered and had been discharged from hospital or quarantine facilities.
9 of the latest cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 14 from the Girne District and two from the Gazimağusa District.
Meanwhile, 323 new cases were recorded in South Cyprus on Wednesday.
In the meantime, hairdressing salons, barber shops, beauty salons and tattoo parlours in the TRNC resumed their activities as of Thursday as part of further relaxation of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
The Health Ministry statement said these sectors will carry out their activities within the framework of pandemic measures.
