3rd Tatlısu Lavender Harvest Festival was realize

President Ersin Tatar stated that the realization of efficient projects is of great importance for the development of the country.

The president made the statement during the 3rd Tatlısu Lavender Harvest Festival that was organized by the Tatlısu Municipality over the weekend.

The 3rd Tatlısu Lavender Harvest Festival was held on Sunday at the Tatlısu Minia Cyprus Museum.

The festival began with a music concert followed by speeches by state and government officials.

In his speech, Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan stated that he was very pleased to be able to bring lavender from Isparta to the people of the region.

He noted that in addition to lavender, they also plan to realize a project that will see thyme, sage and mint oil being developed in the region as well.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu for his part emphasized the importance of lavender cultivation and expressed his belief that lavender cultivation will contribute to the country’s economy.

Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu said that lavender embodies life, art, beauty, agriculture, and many other beauties of life.

He also emphasized that lavender cultivation is an indication that Cyprus is not just about luxury hotels.

He concluded his speech by stating that such activities are an indication that Turkish Cypriots are not a minority on the island.

President Ersin Tatar for his part emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people overcame the most difficult days on these lands and that after the fire that ravaged the region last year, they appreciated the efforts that were made to turn the region into a centre of attraction.

Reminding that after olives and carob, lavender cultivation in the region will now contribute to the economy and add beauty; Tatar stated that the realization of beneficial projects is of great importance for the country.

Emphasizing the importance of living in a more free, peaceful and tranquil life on these lands, President Tatar noted that all of these can be achieved through cooperation.

Touching upon the transition to 4.5G which is the fourth generation of telecommunication services that offer higher mobile internet speed, data capacity and reduced delay time, Tatar said that once this is realized communication will improve.

He also said that cleaner energy will be achieved once electricity is brought to the country via undersea cable.
