41 new Covid-19 cases were detected in the TRNC on Monday, 38 of which are locals following 6133 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
27 of the locally transmitted cases were detected from a student dormitory in the Haspolat region.
The Health Ministry stated that those who tested positive for the virus have been residing in the TRNC for the past 3 months.
Contact tracing has been carried out by the health teams of the ministry and all of the students have been placed in isolated accommodations.
It reports that one positive case arrived via air while the other two were contact cases being monitored in isolation centres.
The ministry also announced that five patients were discharged from hospital or monitored centres.
Meanwhile, case numbers in South Cyprus continue to rise.
The South reported 302 new cases on Monday.
The total number of COVİD 19 cases in South Cyprus has reached 35 thousand and nine.
