The 62nd Mehmetçik Grape Festival, one of the oldest festivals in the country, is being held this year from August 2-11.

Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu visited President Ersin Tatar and Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre separately on Monday, inviting both of them to festival.

Speaking during the visits, President Tatar and Parliamentary Speaker Töre emphasized the importance of preserving Turkish Cypriot culture.

President Ersin Tatar received Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu and her accompanying delegation.

Tuğlu invited President Ersin Tatar to attend the 62nd Mehmetçik Grape Festival that begins on Friday August 2.

Speaking during the visit, President Tatar stated that the Mehmetçik Grape Festival was an important festival reflecting the culture of the country.

He noted that the production of grape products is important and valuable in terms of the existence of the Turkish Cypriot people on the island, keeping their customs and traditions alive, and emphasized the importance of the Turkish Cypriot people to protect their culture.

The Mehmetçik – Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu and her delegation also visited the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre.

Speaking during the visit Töre stated that the Grape Festival is one of the oldest festivals of the country and emphasized the importance of keeping culture alive and promoting local products.
