Ceremonies were held today to commemorate those who fell during the struggle against the British Colonial Administration on January 27-28, 1958.
Separate ceremonies were held at the Lefkoşa Martyrs’ Monument and the Küçük Kaymaklı Cemetery this morning to mark the 67th anniversary of the resistance against British Colonial rule.
While the ceremony in front of the Lefkoşa Martyrs Monument began at 9am, the second commemoration ceremony at the Küçük Kaymaklı Cemetery was realized at 9:30am.
The second ceremony was attended by President Ersin Tatar, several MPs as well as other state and government officials.
Prayers will also be held for the martyrs at the Yenişehir Martyrs Mosque in the evening.
