6th Karşıyaka Taş Armut-Wild Pear Festival realized

The 6th Karşıyaka Taş Armudu –Wild Pear Festival organized by the Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel Municipality, Karşıyaka Mukhtar’s Office and Karşıyaka Culture and Art Association was realized on Sunday.

Local foods, handicrafts and souvenirs were sold at stands set up at the Karşıyaka Atatürk Park.

The festival which started with a nature walk between Karşıyaka Merkez Primary School and the Sinai Monastery was also attended by President Ersin Tatar and Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre.

Saying a few words during the opening of the fesitval, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will become a much more liveable place with the projects that will come to life with the cooperation of central and local governments and the Republic of Türkiye.

President Ersin Tatar in his speech stated that Karşıyaka is a very important town with its cultural, natural and historical richness and expressed the belief that the region will develop further with the projects to be carried out on zoning, infrastructure, environment and roads.

Tatar said that with the completion of the infrastructure works, Karşıyaka will become a place that contributes more to the TRNC economy, culture and tourism.
