The 6th Traditional Bağlıköy Eco Day, organized by the Bağlıköy Eco Tourism Volunteers Association in cooperation with the Lefke Municipality and the European University of Lefke was realized on Sunday.
The event, which took place in the Village Square, was organized in memory of the founding President of the association, Perihan Aziz.
The event, organized with the aim of promoting Bağlıköy, transferring the Turkish Cypriot culture to future generations and adding economic value to the village, started with the opening speech of Taner Kerimoğlu, President of Bağlıköy Eco Tourism Volunteers Association, followed by a speech from President Ersin Tatar.
President Ersin Tatar in his speech stated that such events give a message to the world that ‘the Turkish Cypriot People exists and will exist’ and added that ‘if there will be an agreement on the island, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Turkish Cypriot people will definitely be part of that agreement.
