Türkiye will observe seven days of national mourning after deadly earthquakes hit several southern provinces, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Monday.

7 days of national mourning is also being observed here in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will observe seven days of national mourning after deadly earthquakes hit several provinces of Türkiye.

“Due to the earthquakes that took place in our country on Feb. 6, a national mourning was declared for seven days. Our flag will be hoisted at half-mast until sunset on Sunday, Feb. 12, in all our country and foreign representations,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.

7 days of mourning was also declared in the TRNC due to the earthquakes in Türkiye.

In a statement released by the Prime Ministry it was noted that “Due to the earthquake disaster in which many lives have been lost, our government has declared 7 days of national mourning in the TRNC.”
