The Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu said that they are working meticulously to include unemployed women in rural areas into working life.
The Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu attended the opening of the Görneç 7th Hand Made Pasta Festival and delivered an opening speech.
Gardiyanoğlu stated that approximately 150 women in Mehmetçik and Erenköy regions were trained in wicker basket and Karpaz weaving by the Social Services Department affiliated to the Ministry and noted that the Ministry of Labour and Social Security provided social security support for women for 5 years who were successful in the training sessions and that their provident fund and insurance investments were covered by the state.
Stating that the Ministry is carrying out its work meticulously in order to keep the Cypriot culture alive and to integrate unemployed women in rural areas into the working life, Gardiyanoğlu said that in the coming days, in cooperation with the municipalities, the Department of Social Services will provide wicker basket and weaving training for women in the Mesarya Region and that social security premium support will be provided by the Ministry for women participating in the trainings.
