8 March Women’s Day celebrated with a variety of events

As March 8th International Women’s Day approaches a variety of events are taking place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to celebrate the day.

First Lady Sibel Tatar hosted a dinner for disabled mothers and disabled women at the Presidential Palace to mark March 8 International Women’s Day.

Speaking at the event, Sibel Tatar said that they organized events every year on March 8, International Women’s Day to draw attention to the importance of the day.

She said that this year they wanted to draw attention to the ongoing problems of women and do all they can to assist women to solve their problems.

Meanwhile Sibel Tatar also inaugurated the group painting exhibition titled “Kadınca Esintiler XIII” organized by the Girne Akdeniz Lions Club.

Delivering an opening speech at the event Sibel Tatar stated that the paintings of amateur artists will contribute to a project on health.

“Every effort made for health or any other social service is very valuable. By doing this, we are both contributing to that purpose and at the same time we are happy to have raised awareness in society. Increasing awareness in society is our most important issue” said Sibel Tatar.
