President Ersin Tatar concluded his visit to Poland by attending a reception hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Warsaw Rauf Alp Denktaş.
Speaking at the reception President Ersin Tatar said, “Wherever we are in the world, our hearts beat as one” and added that he had met with business people in cities such as London, Sydney, Melbourne, New York and Berlin.
“Your unity and success in different sectors is not only the strength of the Republic of Türkiye, but also of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC)” said Tatar and he proceeded to invite all who attended the event to visit the TRNC and consider investing in the country, which has made significant progress in the tourism, higher education, construction and agriculture sectors, despite the unjust and inhumane isolation imposed on the country.
Emphasizing that he proposed a two-state solution for a realistic and sustainable solution in Cyprus, President Tatar said, “This vision is also supported by Türkiye. More than 50 years of negotiations on a federal basis have now been exhausted.”
He underlined the importance of the call made by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his speeches at the 77th, 78th and 79th General Assembly meetings of the United Nations for the world states to officially recognize the TRNC and to end the isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people.
Meanwhile President Ersin Tatar also met with Pawel Niewiadomski, President of the Polish Chamber of Tourism and Pawel Radolinski, Secretary General of the Chamber.
Tatar stated that tourism is the fusion of cultures and people and pointed out that Cyprus is located in the Eastern Mediterranean with a mild climate, rich cultural heritage and historical sites from past civilizations.
Stating that tourism should not be mixed with politics, Tatar said, “We would like to see more Polish tourism travel agencies and businesses in North Cyprus.”
Stating that Polish tourists can travel to the TRNC with a short transfer through Türkiye, the President reminded that there are approximately 50 flights a day to the TRNC from Turkish cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and Adana.
