The delegation of the Security and Intelligence Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly is in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

The delegation was received by President Ersin Tatar and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Ziya Öztürkler separately.

Speaking during the visit paid to him, President Ersin Tatar emphasized the importance of security issues and said that cooperation with Türkiye is important at this point and that this should be reinforced with technology.

Underlining the importance of Türkiye’s support in enhancing security, President Tatar thanked the delegation for their efforts to protect national security and wished them success.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Ziya Öztürkler during the visit paid to him drew attention to the importance of the Security and Intelligence Commission.

Öztürkler pointed to the developments in the Middle East and said that the strategic steps to be taken and the cooperation to be established with the guarantor state of Türkiye in the Eastern Mediterranean, both in terms of security, energy and politics, are of vital importance.

Pointing out that the Greek Cypriot Administration has recently taken initiatives at the point of energy and armament, Öztürkler said that they attach importance to the steps to be taken and the work to be done together with Türkiye regarding these initiatives.

Also speaking during the visits the head of the delegation of the Security and Intelligence Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Veysal Tipioğlu emphasized the importance of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to Türkiye and stated that they will always do whatever is necessary to protect the interests of the Turkish Cypriot people.
