
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, alongside TRNC President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, participated in the Serdarlı Youth Gathering organized by the Prime Ministry.
The event, held at Serdarlı Municipality’s facility centre, brought together key officials, including Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkoşa Yasin Ekrem Serim, ministers, MPs, and local mayors.
Discussions focused on preventing youth migration and encouraging investment in the TRNC.

Speaking at the event Prime Minister Üstel declared 2025 as the Year of Youth and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting young people.
He outlined upcoming initiatives, including social housing, employment programs, and business startup loans, aimed at helping youth build their futures in their homeland.
Üstel also highlighted cooperation with Türkiye and Azerbaijan, announcing plans for youth exchange programs and increased investment opportunities.
Turkish Vice President Yılmaz conveyed Türkiye’s continued support for the TRNC, emphasizing the importance of education, employment, and youth engagement in politics.
He reiterated Türkiye’s backing for President Tatar’s two-state solution vision, underlining that lasting stability in Cyprus depends on recognizing the realities on the ground.

President Tatar thanked Türkiye for its unwavering support, stressing the importance of strong TRNC-Türkiye cooperation in securing a prosperous future for young people.
He noted that ongoing investments, infrastructure projects, and economic growth would create more opportunities for youth and strengthen the TRNC’s position in the region.
The event concluded with a closed-door Q&A session, where participants engaged in further discussions on youth-related initiatives.
