Tatar chairs Peoples’ Council meeting

The Peoples’ Council Information and Consultation Meeting was held under the leadership of President Ersin Tatar, where discussions focused on the two-state solution policy and the potential opening of new border crossings.

During the meeting, President Tatar provided information on these key issues and exchanged views with representatives from various civil society and health organizations.

He emphasized the continuous development and strengthening of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), highlighting the vital role of non-governmental organizations in this progress.

Among the attendees were Teyfide Tecel Hatipoğlu from Prime Ministry’s Anti-Drug Office, Ahmet Savaşan from the Health Tourism Council Association), Sezai Sezen from the Turkish Red Crescent Society of Northern Cyprus, Prof. Dr. Hülya Harutoğlu from the International Cyprus Health Tourism and Education Association, Turhan Ulutekin from the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Dentists’, İlker İpekdal from the Community Health and Patients’ Rights Association, Dr. Hayat İzel from the Private Hospitals Association, Dr. Savaş Özyiğit from the IVF Clinics Association, Huriye İcil from the Cyprus Turkish Science and Technology Association, Ayşe Sayılı Erenler from the Cyprus Turkish Paediatrics Association, Eşmen Tatlıcalı from the Cyprus Turkish Psychologists’ Association), and Tuncay Güçlü from the TRNC Medical Laboratory Specialists Association.

President Tatar expressed his appreciation for the contributions of civil society groups and reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing collaboration. Meanwhile, Ahmet Savaşan, representing the Health Tourism Council, shared insights from meetings held within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), expressing confidence that the TRNC would further integrate into the global health sector and achieve significant advancements.
