President Ersin Tatar received Eren Ramadan, UK Young Turkish Cypriots Social Media Manager.

Speaking during the visit President Tatar expressed his belief that young Turkish Cypriots living in the UK will do their best for the national cause.

Delivering a short speech while receiving Eren Ramadan, President Tatar said that one third of the Turkish Cypriots living in the UK are under the age of 30 and that these young people have become a part of the British society with the education they receive.

Tatar also drew attention to the commitment of young people to their homeland and the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Emphasizing that international agreements give Turkish Cypriots the right to a state on equal terms, Tatar reminded that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), a young republic in the Eastern Mediterranean, became an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) with the support of motherland Türkiye.

He stated that Britain, as one of the guarantor countries, should assume responsibility towards Turkish Cypriots and take action against the injustices done to them.

Stating his belief that young Turkish Cypriots living in the UK will do their best for the national cause, Tatar expressed the hope that he will be able to meet up with young Turkish Cypriots in the UK in the future.

Eren Ramadan for his part emphasized his strong support for the work carried out by President Tatar since the day he took office and his vision of a two-state solution, and stated that he tried to contribute to the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people through social media.
