Turkish Ambassador to Baku Birol Akgün, visited the TRNC Baku Representative Office.

Ambassador Akgün met with TRNC Baku Representative, Ambassador Ufuk Turganer and received information about the representative office’s activities.

Akgün stated that they were closely following the critical steps taken by the Organization of Turkic State members to accept the TRNC in their countries.

He emphasized that they both support and find important the TRNC’s efforts for observer status within the Turkic Council, adding, “I hope the TRNC takes its rightful place in the international arena. Let’s work together in many international institutions, starting with the Turkic Council. It would be a great honour for us.”

Ambassador Turganer congratulated Akgün on his appointment as the Turkish Ambassador to Baku and wished him success.

Turganer expressed no doubt that Akgün would carry the flag he inherited even further and thanked Türkiye and Azerbaijan for their support for the TRNC.
