President Ersin Tatar received the President of the Pakistan Unity and Culture Association, Nawaz Muhammad, along with the association’s board members.

According to a statement from the President’s Office, the President stressed during the meeting that Pakistan was an important friend and brotherly country for both motherland Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Tatar further noted that the bonds of friendship, brotherhood, faith, and cultural unity further strengthened the ties between the nations.

Pointing out the increasing number of Pakistani citizens settling in the TRNC, the President expressed his gratitude, saying, “I would like to thank you for your contributions to the TRNC economy.”

Highlighting the economic contributions of Pakistani workers, he stated that they served in various sectors of the TRNC, making significant contributions through their labour.

Tatar also expressed his hope that the shared national and spiritual values between the two countries would continue to strengthen.

Stressing that Pakistan was a country that supports the TRNC, President Tatar by referring to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement during a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where he said, “Pakistan fully supports the cause of Northern Cyprus and stands firmly with Türkiye in this matter,” noted that this statement strengthened the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people.

He stated that they were sending a message to the world and taking important steps to make the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people heard.

Tatar also praised the role of Pakistanis in the TRNC in building bridges to strengthen relations between the two countries and expressed his appreciation for the association’s efforts, assuring them of his continued support.

Pakistan Unity and Culture Association President Nawaz Muhammad provided President Tatar with information about the association, which was established in 2020, and its activities.

Muhammad also expressed their satisfaction with President Erdoğan’s visit to Pakistan and conveyed their admiration and love for Cyprus.

He also extended an invitation to President Tatar to visit Pakistan.
