
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel travelled to Ankara following the informal Cyprus meeting in an expanded format held in Geneva.
Accompanied by a large delegation, the Premier engaged in a series of meetings in Ankara.
With a busy agenda, Üstel held discussions on economic cooperation between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Türkiye, transportation projects, financial support issues, and other important matters.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel travelled to Ankara with a large delegation following the informal Cyprus meeting in an expanded format held in Geneva.
The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı, Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova, as well as high-level bureaucrats.
As part of his meetings, Prime Minister Üstel met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
During the meeting, bilateral and regional issues were discussed, along with the Cyprus Summit held in Geneva.

Üstel and his delegation also met with the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
The meeting focused on new steps to be taken for the development of TRNC tourism, particularly increasing mutual flight services and passenger numbers, measures to counter transportation embargoes, and new collaborations to enhance tourism.
Joint projects for the development of TRNC tourism, increasing its international visibility, and strengthening promotional efforts were also among the topics discussed in the meeting.
Following the meeting, both parties stressed that the efforts to make TRNC a more attractive tourism destination would continue without interruption.
Prime Minister Üstel stated that they would take many new steps in cooperation with Türkiye for the development of TRNC tourism.
Highlighting the increase in the number of passengers arriving in the country with the opening of the new airport, he expressed their goal to further boost this number.
“Our initiatives will make significant contributions to advancing tourism,” Üstel said, stressing that TRNC tourism would continue to grow steadily with new projects in this process.
Following the meeting, Turkish Minister Ersoy shared a statement on his social media account, noting that they had a productive meeting to strengthen the brotherly ties between Türkiye and TRNC and to enhance cooperation in tourism.
“We will continue working together to take our cooperation further in line with our common tourism goals” Ersoy said.

As part of his meetings in Ankara, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also met with Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Murat Kurum.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, new steps to be taken in environmental and zero-waste initiatives, as well as projects to be carried out between the two countries, were discussed.
Particular focus was given to the development of the Güngör Regular Storage Area and transfer stations within the scope of the Integrated Solid Waste Management System.
Additionally, discussions were held on sewage and wastewater treatment plant projects, which have become a growing necessity in rapidly developing areas.
The meeting also covered joint steps to be taken by Türkiye and TRNC in combating climate change.
