The leader of the Rebirth Party (YDP) and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Erhan Arıklı, made statements regarding the upcoming presidential election and current political issues.
During an iftar dinner in Gazimağusa, hosted by the Rebirth Party (YDP), Erhan Arıklı addressed his party members and later shared his remarks on social media.
He announced that the Party Assembly would convene in April to discuss government affairs and finalize a decision on the presidential elections.
Calling on his political partners to adopt a nonpartisan approach in the presidential election, Arıklı said, “We are calling on our partners and saying, let’s approach the upcoming presidential elections in a nonpartisan manner. It is impossible for us to vote for another party’s candidate in the elections. In local elections, we saw that three-party voters did not vote for candidates from another party. Let’s agree on a common independent candidate. Let’s unite in common sense. If we reach an agreement, we will bring both government matters and the presidential election issue to the Party Assembly together.”
