Speaker of the TRNC Parliament, Ziya Öztürkler, highlighted ongoing investments and projects in the Güzelyurt region, emphasizing that the area is undergoing a significant economic and social transformation.

Speaking on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony in Güzelyurt, Öztürkler stated that area’s long-debated status in negotiations has been removed from the agenda thanks to the firm stance of the Turkish Cypriot side.

Öztürkler credited Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and the government for their strong support in preparing Güzelyurt for a prosperous future.

He pointed to social housing projects as a key step in regional development, allowing citizens to own homes under favorable conditions.

He noted that the government has provided land allocation and infrastructure support, ensuring these projects contribute not only to individual living standards but also to economic growth.

In addition to social housing, Öztürkler underlined the importance of major infrastructure projects such as roads and water supply.

He highlighted the “Project of the Century,” which has successfully brought water to the region, supporting both agriculture and daily life.

He also announced that the completion of the new state hospital will greatly improve healthcare services, while efforts to strengthen Cengiz Topel Hospital are ongoing.

Öztürkler emphasized that these investments enhance Güzelyurt’s strategic and social importance, leading to higher living standards and economic stability.

“Güzelyurt’s development vision is being reshaped, and our hopes for the future are growing stronger every day,” he concluded.
