
The Republic Assembly’s Parliamentary Delegation attended the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly held in Uzbekistan.
As part of the IPU General Assembly, the delegation also took part in the Cyprus Facilitators Group meeting held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The Republic Assembly’s Committee on Legal, Political Affairs, Foreign Relations and Defense participated in the Cyprus Facilitators Group meeting held in Tashkent, within the scope of the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly meeting.
According to a statement made from the Assembly, the delegation, led by National Unity Party (UBP) MP Yasemi Öztürk and consisting of Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Salahi Şahiner and Rebirth Party (YDP) MP Talip Atalay, attended the meeting as part of the IPU General Assembly events.
The meeting was moderated by Swiss diplomat Laurant Wehrli and his team and brought together representatives of Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot political parties.
Discussions focused on promoting dialogue and cooperation between the two sides on the island, with the aim to encourage rapprochement.
The Assembly delegation was accompanied by Milhan Lakadamyalı, Director of Press, Foreign Relations and Protocol of the Parliament.
