President Ersin Tatar received the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, who arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to attend the Donors’ Medal and Certificate Presentation Ceremony organized by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV).

The Commander of the Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus, Major General Sebahattin Kılınç, and Presidential Undersecretary Okan Donangil were also present at the meeting.

In his speech during the meeting, President Ersin Tatar stressed that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) was the guarantors of peace, tranquility, and security in Cyprus.

Noting that peace came to the island with the TSK’s intervention during the Peace Operation on July 20, the President said, “Peace, tranquility, and security have continued in a stable manner for 50 years,” expressing his gratitude.

Noting that he closely followed the activities of the TSK, Tatar highlighted the importance of all kinds of donations and support to the TSK.

Expressing wishes for the Republic of Türkiye to continue adding new successes to its national defense industry, he congratulated the companies in the defense sector.

Reminding that TECHNOFEST will be held in the TRNC from May 1 to 4, Tatar said that many national defense industry companies would participate in the festival.

President Tatar expressed his belief that TECHNOFEST would also contribute to the promotion of the TRNC.

In his speech, the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, spoke about the sympathy and affection the Turkish Cypriot people have for them.

Stressing the importance of the Donors’ Medal and Certificate Presentation Ceremony to be held by the TSK Foundation, he described the event as a sign of the Turkish Cypriot people’s appreciation and affection for the Turkish Armed Forces.

General Bayraktaroğlu concluded his remarks by expressing his respect to President Ersin Tatar and thanking him for his interest.
