
The 14th to the 20th of April Heart Health Week has begun.
The Ministry of Health, in a statement made as part of Heart Health Week, reminded that 80% of deaths related to heart diseases can be prevented.
In a statement made to mark Heart Health Week, the Ministry of Health noted that with the increase in life expectancy, cardiovascular diseases have become one of the leading life-threatening conditions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), just as they are around the world.
The statement pointed out that, according to World Health Organization data, cardiovascular diseases are the cause of death for one in every three people and emphasized that the majority of these diseases can be prevented by addressing risk factors.
“The World Health Organization highlights that 80% of deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases can be prevented through lifestyle changes and adjustments,” the statement said, also drawing attention to the key factors that should be considered.
