An organization called “Tourism Meeting in Cyprus Island” is being held in order to further develop tourism activities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, received the delegations of TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) who are in the TRNC for the organization and KITSAB (Cyprus Turkish Travel Agencies Association.
The “Tourism Meeting in Cyprus Island” is being held in cooperation with the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Cyprus Turkish Travel Agencies Association (KITSAB), and the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB).
As part of this initiative, a delegation from TÜRSAB is also in the TRNC to participate in the event.
Over the course of three days, the delegation will participate in various tours designed according to their interests and expertise, including cultural, activity-based, experiential, hiking, nature, gastronomy, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tours, stretching from Karpaz to Lefke, giving them the opportunity to get to know Cyprus more closely.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu also received TÜRSAB Vice President Davut Günaydın, members of the Board of Directors, and KITSAB President Orhan Tolun, who are currently in the TRNC for the organization.
In his speech during the meeting, Ataoğlu stated that they were making efforts to promote and introduce the TRNC around the world.
He also expressed his belief that if even a portion of the 15% of Turkey’s 85 million population who travel were to visit the TRNC, it would create great potential for the region.
Noting that as a result of the meetings held with TÜRSAB and KITSAB officials, an extensive promotional campaign had been launched, Ataoğlu also said that promotional activities have begun with the collaboration of social media influencers from the TRNC and Türkiye, aiming to showcase the TRNC’s natural beauty, historical richness, gastronomy, and culture.
Stressing that their goal through these launched events was to introduce the TRNC to the people of Türkiye and to host them in the TRNC at least once, Ataoğlu said, “I invite our brothers and sisters living in our motherland, the Republic of Türkiye, to visit the TRNC so that our growing bonds can be strengthened even further.”
