The leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Tufan Erhürman strongly reacted to the statements made by Archbishop Georgios of the Greek Orthodox Church on Easter Sunday.
Criticizing the Archbishop’s comments regarding the Cyprus issue, Erhürman said, “Let it be known that these insolent remarks are of no value to us whatsoever.”
Erhürman stated that the Church is not a counterpart to the Turkish Cypriot people on the Cyprus issue and recalled the role the Greek Orthodox Church has played in Cyprus’s political history.
