The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the allegations made in a publication based in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) regarding the Ministry and Minister Hakan Fidan did not reflect the truth.

The Ministry also announced that legal action would be taken against these baseless accusations, which are not supported by any evidence.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the allegations published in a media outlet based in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

In a written statement regarding the matter, the Ministry stressed that the claims mentioned in the report by the TRNC-based publication were completely unfounded.

The statement underlined that it was highly inappropriate for certain circles to bring these false reports – targeting the dignity of state institutions and the honour of individuals – back into the public agenda.

The Ministry also stressed that no credibility should be given to this planned defamation and slander campaign, which involves the constant repetition of irrational and illogical fabrications.
