The award ceremony for the “Drone Competition,” the first event organized under the “TEKNOFEST KKTC” program, was held yesterday at the Near East University drift area.
President Ersin Tatar, who attended the ceremony, emphasized that between May 1-4, the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival would be hosted in an independent Turkish State in the Eastern Mediterranean, delivering a significant and meaningful message to the world.
President Ersin Tatar congratulated the young participants of the drone race and highlighted the extensive preparations carried out over the past six months under the leadership of T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees and TEKNOFEST Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar and his team.
He noted that thousands of technology, space, and aviation enthusiasts would participate in the competitions and attend the festival’s demonstrations.
Tatar also underlined that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye would attend the festival on May 3, alongside other top-level representatives from Türkiye.
Stressing the importance of organizing such a major festival in the TRNC, he said: “It is highly meaningful that firms achieving great success in Türkiye’s national defense industry will also participate.
The Turkish Cypriots, an inseparable part of the great Turkish nation, will proudly express their independence, freedom, and sovereignty through this festival.”
