Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre toured the newly operational Ercan Airport terminal on Monday morning.

Töre was briefed on the airport’s operations by Serhat Özçelik, the General Manager of T&T Airport Management and his deputy Şevki Turanlı.

Speaking during the visit, Töre said that the new airport was a massive investment for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) which paved the way for the country’s future.

He also played down critizisms concerning the large size of the airport, adding that Ercan played an important role on the path to international recognition with its modern appearance and infrastructure.

Expressing his belief that flights will increase in the future, Töre said, “The future belongs to TRNC.”
