Acting President and Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre has emphasized that it is not possible to reach a settlement in Cyprus, that does not take into consideration Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

The acting president made the statement while he receiving the Justice and Development Party’s (AK Party) Vice Chairman for Foreign Affairs Emir Yasin Kekeç and his accompanying delegation.

Speaking during the visit, the AK Party’s Vice Chairman for Foreign Affairs Emir Yasin Kekeç said that Cyprus was a national cause for his part and that they are very happy to be visiting the TRNC parliament where this cause is defended.

Kekeç stated that the AK Party, under the leadership of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is defending the national cause and is always supporting the Turkish Cypriot people.

Acting President and Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre for his part said that the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot cause would not be where it is today without the support of Türkiye or the Turkish military.

Referring to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s words that ‘the world is bigger than five’, Töre stated that the Republic of Türkiye pursued a just, fair and tolerant policy against the colonialism and imperialist attitudes of the UN Security Council members.

Emphasizing that they look to the future with more hope after joining the Organization of Turkic States as an observer member under the leadership of Türkiye, Töre stated that there can be no solution formula that does not take Türkiye and the TRNC into account.
