Celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) continued throughout the weekend.
Acting President-Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre attended the Republic Day Ball organised by the 15 Lions Club operating in the TRNC.
Addressing the Lions members during the event held at the Arkın Colony Hotel, Töre said that Motherland Türkiye and freedom fighters known as Mücahits were the greatest in assisting the Turkish Cypriot people coming to where they are today and said that thanks to their support the Republic was established and is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Noting that it is necessary to extend a hand of peace to all humanity, Töre mentioned that while doing this, the Republic should always be kept alive.
He emphasized that they have been living in security and freedom since the 1974 Peace Operation and said, “We do not want to be separated from Türkiye and the Turkish army once again”.
