The AD-Hoc Committee established by the Republic’s Assembly to monitor the legal and judicial developments regarding the earthquake in Türkiye convened on Wednesday.

During the discussions it was clarified that both the parliament and the government would be closely following the developments regarding the Isias hotel.

The Ad-Hoc committee established by the Republic’s Assembly to follow the legal and judicial developments in relation to the earthquake in Türkiye convened under the chairmanship of the National Unity Party MP (UBP) Chairman of the Committee Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu.

Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and the leader of the main opposition Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Tufan Erhürman also attended the meeting, where the families of the children who lost their lives in the earthquake were also invited to attend.

Speaking during the meeting Hasipoğlu said that the committee will not rest until those responsible for the ISIAS Hotel tragedy receive the punishment they deserve.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel for his part said that those who lost their lives at the Isias hotel will never be forgotten and added that as the government they will do all they can and use all their means to bring justice to the families.

Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre for his part conveyed the work that the parliament carried out after the earthquake.

Stating that the earthquake was not fate, Töre said, “Those who were negligent with the construction of the ISIAS Hotel, those who deliberately steal materials and only think of profits must be punished.”

The leader of the main opposition Tufan Erhürman for his part said that they too would be following the developments closely until the very end no matter what their position may be in the future.
