
Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş made a comprehensive statement regarding actions he has taken.
Çavuş stated that agricultural production has grown thanks to the right supports and the expansion of agricultural insurance coverage.

Çavuş stated that they continuously update support programs to ensure the sustainability of agriculture and consider ways to enhance productivity when determining these supports.
He also noted that by consistently expanding the scope of the General Agricultural Insurance Fund, they have provided confidence to producers.
Highlighting the policies aimed at increasing efficiency in cattle farming, Çavuş reported that the number of cattle rose from 64,000 in 2023 to 72,000 in 2024, with a 9.5% increase in milk yield.
He also gave detailed information regarding the growth in the Dairy Industry Institution.
He attributed this growth to policies that reduce input costs and encourage efficiency.
Additionally, he mentioned providing extra incentives for PDO-certified farm operations, leading to an increase in the number of PDO-certified farms to 24.
Regarding fresh vegetables, he pointed out that in the past, support was provided only once a year, but they have now doubled this assistance.
He also mentioned plantation plans for carob, explaining that during the pandemic, supply shortages of carob seeds led to the development of synthetic alternatives, which in turn caused a decline in demand.
However, despite this, the Ministry has continued to support carob production by providing a subsidy of 10 TL per kilogram in 2024.
