The first leg of the comprehensive aid organization organized in cooperation with the Evkaf Foundation and the Turkish Embassy in Lefkoşa for earthquake victims has been completed.
According to a statement released by the Evkaf Foundation, thousands of families who have had to leave their homes and regions due to the earthquake in Türkiye continue to be hosted in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Gift certificates consisting of clothing and food were delivered to approximately 3,500 earthquake victims under the leadership of Evkaf teams and Evkaf Kindness Volunteers, in line with carefully determined lists.
“The big wounds inflicted on us have deeply affected us. However, the bridges of heart between us and Anatolia from past to present have helped the Turkish Cypriots to increase their hope and never feel alone” the Evkaf statement said.
“In this case, we would like to express that we see the visitors not only as guests, but also as our mothers, fathers and siblings, that is, our family, and that we are trying to do our best with these feelings” the statement added.
