The Deputy Chairman and Spokesperson of the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party Ömer Çelik on Thursday slammed the Greek Cypriot administration for allowing the YPG terrorist group’s so-called political wing, the PYD, a Syrian affiliate of the PKK terrorist organization, to open a representative office in South Cyprus.
On his twitter account, Çelik said the Greek Cypriot administration by allowing the PKK/YPG to open a representative office in the South was supporting terrorism.
He also stressed that this was another example of the Greek Cypriot side’s unlawful behaviour.
“Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus stand determined to respond to any terrorist activity. The Turkish Cypriots have experience in fighting against murderers. Once again the Greek Cypriot administration has been red flagged by allowing the PKK/YPG to open a representative office in the South. South Cyprus will be affiliated with a terrorist organisation known for its murderous actions,” Çelik said.
