Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the participants of the 2nd Meeting of the Ministers on Disaster and Emergency Management of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
During the meeting, President Aliyev stated that the flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) should be flown at events in Azerbaijan and confirmed that it would be.
Receiving participants of the 2nd Meeting of the Ministers on Disaster and Emergency Management of the Organization of Turkic States,Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that summit meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States would take place in two months, where it is anticipated that an agreement on disaster management assistance will be signed, stressing the great need for it.
Noting that the TRNC Minister of Interior also participated in the meeting, Aliyev said, “I especially want to greet our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters. The minister is here as an observer, but also representing his country’s flag. Certainly, the flag of the TRNC should wave at our event, and it will wave. Azerbaijan has always been by the side of our brothers and sisters united in the entire Turkic world, and the selection of the TRNC as an ‘observer’ in the last summit meeting is highly pleasing. On this occasion, I wholeheartedly congratulate all our Turkic brothers and sisters.”
