Amcaoğlu attends OIC meeting in Istanbul

The Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu participated in the 3rd Ministerial Meeting of the Trade Negotiation Committee of the Preferential Trade System, held in Istanbul.

The meeting was hosted by Turkish Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, and focused on enhancing trade among Islamic countries.

During the event which was organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu emphasized the necessity of developing trade relations between the TRNC and Islamic countries.

He highlighted this point in his address at the meeting, underscoring the potential benefits of strengthened economic ties.

Hosted by Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, the meeting provided a platform for discussing various strategies to boost trade among member states.

Amcaoğlu stressed the importance of increasing trade between the TRNC and Islamic nations, noting that such initiatives are crucial for the economic prosperity of the TRNC.

He expressed the value of these discussions for the “bright future” of the TRNC, mentioning that participation in such high-level meetings signifies more than just symbolic representation.

Amcaoğlu also noted that the meeting included a protest against the inhumane actions of Israel towards the Palestinian people.                                                        

He reiterated the TRNC’s stance in favour of an unconditional ceasefire in the region and the cessation of suffering, aligning with broader calls for peace and stability.

The meeting concluded with a family photo, which Minister Amcaoğlu described as an important gesture, symbolizing the solidarity and collaborative spirit among the participating nations.
