Anadolu Agency celebrates its 103rd year

State and government officials in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) issued messages on Thursday to congratulate the Anadolu Agency (AA) on the 103rd anniversary of its establishment.

President Ersin Tatar and Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu both issued messages praising the work carried out by the agency.

President Tatar in his message said, “I sincerely congratulate the 103rd anniversary of the Anadolu Agency, which witnessed all phases of the Turkish national struggle and the War of Independence and conveyed the republican revolutions to the Turkish people and the world at every stage”.

Stating that the AA contributed to the Turkish Cypriot peoples’ just struggle in every sense, he said that the AA also conveyed the Turkish Cypriot peoples struggle for existence on these lands to the whole world.

Noting that the Anadolu Agency, which has become a global brand with its representation in 100 countries, is one of the biggest supporters of the Turkish Cypriot people’s just cause as it conveys important political and diplomatic developments in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the world.

Tatar also said that AA allows the TRNC to disclose its truth to the international community.

“I would like to congratulate all the employees and managers of AA, which is shown as one of the most influential and respected news agencies in the world, and reiterate my belief that their success will continue to increase” said Tatar.

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu also issued a congratulatory message.

In his message Ertuğruloğlu wrote “I would like to congratulate the 103rd anniversary of the Anadolu Agency which was established upon the orders of Atatürk in order to enable the voice of Anatolia to be heard around the world during the War of Independence. AA also contributed to the Turkish Cypriot peoples’ rightful voice being heard in the international community. I wish them success in the future.”
