The 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States, of which the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is an observer member, is being marked and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel issued messages to mark the day.
Messages of unity, solidarity and brotherhood with the Turkic world were given room.
The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre in his message stated that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has become an important force that contributes to the increase in the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity among the Turkic States and to the shaping of a common future.
He noted that cooperation in economic, cultural and political fields is vital for the welfare of the peoples and regional peace.
“While keeping the legacy of our history alive, we will also continue to build strong and lasting cooperation,” Töre said, emphasizing that they will continue to work with all their strength and determination to leave a stronger legacy to future generations by making the best use of the potential of the Turkic world and to realize the slogan of ‘Unity in Language, Ideas and Work’ among Turkic states. ..2..
Töre congratulated the Turkic States Cooperation Day with his sincerest wishes and wished a future full of peace, prosperity and tranquillity to brotherly nations.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel in his message said: “We celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States with great excitement and pride. The Organization is an important cooperation platform that reinforces our brotherhood, cultural and political ties strengthened by our common history.”
Stating that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus bears the honour and responsibility of being an observer in the Organization of Turkic States, Üstel said “This position is an important indicator of the strong solidarity between our peoples and our ties with the Turkic world. We strongly believe that our Organization will continue to strengthen peace, prosperity and stability by deepening cooperation among Turkic states”.
“As the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, I am proud to be a part of this strong union and I would like to emphasize our belief that our cooperation will increase day by day,” said Üstel in his message.
