The annual Public Health Week has begun.
The Ministry of Health organized a “Stay Healthy Walk” in Lefkoşa on Sunday morning as part of the ongoing activities throughout the week.
President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre and Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek also participated in the walk.
Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek stated that the most effective form of health is the awareness of protecting one’s health.
As part of the Public Health Week activities taking place from September 3-9, the Ministry of Health organized a “Stay Healthy Walk.”
The walk started in front of Dereboyu at the Mehmet Akif Avenue in Lefkoşa, with the participation of President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre, Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek, along with other officials and citizens.
After the walk, children presented a health-related performance, and informative brochures were distributed at Kuğulu Park.
During his speech at the walk, Health Minister Dinçyürek emphasized the importance of the awareness of protecting one’s health, stating that the most effective form of health is not falling ill in the first place.
He stressed the importance of a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating, and regular exercise.
Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre also highlighted the importance of health and expressed the necessity of maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise, and taking care of oneself to preserve one’s health.
Töre also acknowledged the sacred duty of healthcare workers and expressed his wish for a healthy life.
President Ersin Tatar thanked the organizers of the walk and emphasized the importance of implementing a healthy lifestyle. He stressed the need for daily walks and exercise.
Tatar also mentioned that he walks every day to be a good example for children and young people, sharing it through social media, and advising against smoking and bad habits.
He emphasized the importance of setting an example for children and young people.
Tatar also extended his best wishes to healthcare workers.
The activities of Public Health Week, which started with the “Stay Healthy Walk,” will continue throughout the week with various events and initiatives aimed at promoting public health.
