Arif Bey Aqueducts

The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage announced that the work carried out at the Arif Bey Aqueducts has been completed.

The Co-Chairman of the Bilateral Cultural Heritage Technical Committee Ali Tuncay made a statement regarding the work being carried out at the Arif Bey Aqueducts.

Tuncay stated that 270 meters of the historical Arif Bey Aqueducts near Gaziköy, including the ruins, and 69 arches have survived to the present day.

Tuncay also explained the main interventions carried out at the Arif Bey Aqueducts.

He noted that with the completion of vital interventions, another important tangible heritage, which symbolizes the past economic, social and cultural life of the island, has been protected and secured.

Tuncay also said that the conservation work was carried out with the financial contribution of the European Union (EU) to the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage and the technical support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
